i haven't quit reading you.
i still visit my favorite peoples. (how can i not?)
but i have quit "following" - because the process is cumbersome. i like to go right to the source to catch up!

Love the photos. You spent a lot more time there than I did (just drove through). Did you go to Hico yet? If you come to my neck of the woods, you'll like Clifton or Valley Mills. You could even go see sad, forgotten Crawford now that the former prez is gone. ;-)
You're welcome to stay with me if you head this way. Waco has lots of the funky neighborhoods you like, too.
You seem to be settling into this new life as a Texan pretty well!

oh jennifer, i'm glad you found the pictures! i haven't been able to see your journal lately, so couldn't come tell you i *finally* went there. it was quite a fine place to wander! so much crustier than f-burg.
i haven't been to Hico in a couple of years, but stopped a few times when i was going back and forth from Kansas. i REALLY want to get back there. but i don't feel comfortable taking my little junker more than 100 miles...
someday ... MARFA!
(i'm not a very good Texan at all. there are some things i like, but i too often feel like an alien.)
