chinatown san francisco : an excellent cacophony

i have been to an urban paradise! i feel so lucky and grateful. for the holiday, Margaret gifted me with a round-trip ticket to San Francisco, to visit Betsy. who gifted me a whirlwind tour of her world, which i always refer to as betsyWorld. she loves living in San Francisco and i love her city, too. it is my favorite of all i have ever visited. Betsy's tour included ... food! she has become a fledgling foodie, working in a great restaurant and enjoying visiting others in her neighborhood and around the city. we ate incredibly delicious and interesting things. i am thinking i will list them, just for my amazement, but not yet. we saw movies. we went to the SFMOMA, where i was able to view the Francesca Woodman exhibit, which was outstanding. i had seen her images off and on, online, but to see 3 rooms of them - they made so much more sense. and were truly magical. on one day, FOUR of my online friends came to the city and we wandered and made pictures and chattered and had the greatest time. how i loved meeting them.

it is funny, although walking and looking took place every day, i didn't make many pictures while i was there. and they are a random and motley collection. i realized some things about myself and my imagemaking style. but i will play with them and post some in the next week or so.

Yay! Great shots....my favorite city as well. Can't wait to hear what you ate where. Lucky girls!
I'm making my way up next week hoping to make a quick sfmoma stop now that you've pointed the way.
love and best new year to you Bobbi.

yolie i always love to hear your reports of the place, too! what a wonderful city. lucky YOU! (-: (and dishwasher, too!)

i think you will love the Woodman exhibit. it is slightly melancholy, of course, knowing her history, but the work is just so lovely and unusual.

happiest new year to you and your familia!
